One of the major activities of the YC is the organization of the Annual Czechoslovak Yeast Conferences and international symposia. Since its creation in 1964, the YC has organized 31 annual conferences, one international yeast symposium and four international specialized symposia on yeasts (ISSY). Active participation of the Czech and Slovak yeast researchers on the progress of yeast science is reflected in periodical reports "Ten, Twenty and/or Thirty Years of Activity in Czechoslovak Yeast Research" published by the Comission in 1974-1990 and in the report "Forty Years of Activity in Czech and Slovak Yeast Research" published in 1999.

The annual Czecho-Slovak yeast conferences are traditionally taking place in the Conference Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences located in the Smolenice Castle near Bratislava. Beautiful natural surroundings of the Small Carpathian Mountains and attractive interiors of the castle create a special atmosphere for scientific discussions and relaxation.
